Transportation to Airport from Bakü City Center

Heydar Aliyev Intl. Airport

Located along the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan’s capital Baku is a rising star in the East gaining notoriety for its oil, gas, and caviar. Baku is a city that attracts the attention people migrating from Asia and other countries in the region, and businessmen from all around the world. The city’s only airport is the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, named after the National Leader and third President of Azerbaijan. The airport serves 5 million passengers annually.

You can get to the airport, which is located 25 km away, from the city center by car or a combination of the metro and airport buses.

Airport Buses

The easiest and cheapest way to get to the airport from the city center is by airport bus. Bus line 116 departs from Vurgun Park, located in central Baku, and takes about 50 minutes to get to the airport.

Metro

The metro system in Baku provides transportation to many central locations in the city like the Old City, 28 May Street, and the Caspian Sea. However, to get to the airport from the city center you have to first take the metro and then get on a bus. From central locations in the city like the Old City, Cafer Cabbari, and Khatai you can take the metro to the 28 May and Koroglu stations. From here you can get on bus line 116, which runs to the airport or take a taxi to the airport.   

Personal Car

Since the city is rich in oil, fuel is cheap, making traveling by car a very attractive option. Getting to the city center from the airport is very easy. One of the city’s most important avenues, Heydar Aliyev Avenue will connect you to the Boyuk Shor Highway, which goes to the airport. From the highway take the Airport exit. The airport contains indoor and outdoor parking lots where you can park your personal car for a certain fee.

Liszt Ferenc Airport in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, hosts international and domestic flights. The airport, which is 16 kilometers south east of Budapest, is the largest of the four airports of the country. Passenger traffic is increasing every year at Liszt Ferenc Airport, which hosts flights to Europe, as well as to Africa, Middle East and Far East.

Liszt Ferenc Airport, which provides both domestic and international services, offers a variety of transportation options to and from the city center. There are many areas where you can meet your pre and post-flight needs, shop and relax at the airport. Liszt Ferenc Airport is 22 kilometers from the city center and you have a lot of options for transportation to the city center.

You can go to the city center either by taxi, bus, minibus and train, or by renting a car.

Taxi

Taxis may be your first choice to go to the city center from the Liszt Ferenc Airport. The taxis that are at your service every day and every hour of the week are a quick and easy option for you. You can easily travel between the terminals and the city center with Főtaxi vehicles serving at the airport. All vehicles are equipped with latest technology and you can find them in Terminal 2A and 2B from the moment your aircraft landed. Train

You can choose trains as one of the economic means of transportation. You can easily get to the city center with the trains you can take from the train station, which is very close to Terminal 2 at the airport. You can buy train tickets at Terminal 2 at the airport, where 100 trains a day carry passengers. One of the economical means of transportation is metro. By using underground metros you can travel to the city center both economically and comfortably. You can buy tickets for the underground station from the Terminal 2 building where you can also take the metro. The metro, which operated between 4 am and 11 pm, will be an economical and comfortable choice for you.

Minibus

As one of the most comfortable transportation options, minibuses stand out with their door to door service. With minibuses at your service 24 hours a day, you can go anywhere without getting tired. Thanks to the drivers who can find the place you want to go with the GPS system in the vehicle, you will have no problems in your journey. The vehicles you would prefer might be either for 10 or 50 people.

Car Rental

Another mean of transportation you might prefer is car rental. You can rent any car you want with or without driver from the car rental offices that you can find at Liszt Ferenc Airport, and go wherever you want in the city center. Among the car rental companies you can choose from are Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.
