About Sliac
Sliac, a small spa town in Slovakia's center, is by the Hron River. Also between Banska Bystrica and Zvolen, the city is known for its healing hot springs and the airport used as a military base.
According to 2005 data, in the city where about 5 thousand people live, the majority of the population is Slovak, while 2% is Czech. Religiously, about 46% of the population is Roman Catholic, while 26% are unbelievers and 22% are Lutherans. The town, which consists of two villages, Hajniky and Rybare, hosts gothic churches.
