About Orsk
Located in the Orenburg Oblast in the western part of Russia, Orsk is located at the junction of the Ural and Or rivers. The city, which is a large industrial center, has an oil refinery that processes petroleum brought from the Emba and Mangyshlak oil fields in the Caspian Sea. The city also focuses on nickel, cobalt, heavy metallurgy, mining machinery, electrical equipment, synthetic alcohol and processed meat sectors. According to the data of 2013, about 236 thousand people live in the city. The air transportation is carried out via Orsk Airport. There is a technology institute in the city, as well as universities, high schools and art schools. It also hosts State Drama Theater, Local History Museum, Archeology Laboratories, Children's Art Gallery, and Children’s Folk Theater.
