About Kassel
Kassel is an important German city whose history dates back to old times and it is located in Hessen state. In the World War II, Kassel was under heavy bombardment and 90% of the city had disappeared in 1943. Therefore, almost the whole city was rebuilt in the 1950s. Air transportation in Kassel is available through Paderborn Lippstadt Airport in Paderborn as there are no flights to Kassel from Turkey. The airport is only about 1 hour away from Kassel city center. It is also possible to reach Kassel city center by railway from the airport; however, travel by railway takes much longer because the lines are provided through different routes to reach the city. Flights from Istanbul to Paderborn take about at least 5 hours and 40 minutes with one or more transfers.

You can easily reach Kassel city center from Kassel-Calden Airport by using express public bus. If you want to use a more comfortable transportation alternative, you can get on a taxi or rent a car at the airport. If you need to travel to Calden, you can get on a taxi and reach the city in a short time since the distance is very close.
Taxi
You can reach Kassel city center from the airport in maximum thirty minutes. The travel costs approximately 28-30 Euro.
Bus
If you prefer using a means of public transportation, you can reach Kassel city center by getting on the bus route 100 departing from the airport. This bus route is an express bus route offering service for seven days a week. You can reach the city center in only 25 minutes. You can also get to Wilhelmshöhe Railway Station with the same bus and transfer to many cities from here.
Car Rental
At the airport, Avis, Europcar and Sixt car rental companies offer service for passengers. You can also rent a limousine from one of these companies. You should drive southward on the highway B7 in order to reach Kassel city center with the car you will rent.
