About Elba Island
Located in Tuscany, Italy, Elba is the 3rd largest island after Sicily and Sardinia with a population of around 35 thousand. Elba is known as the island where Napoleon Bonaparte was sent to exile and various stories have been written about it. The city experiences a significant population increase during the summer. Elba experiences a changing climate, with hot and dry summers and heavy rainfall during the winters.
The changing climate also means occasional increases in humidity. There are many architectural monuments throughout the city. Among the city’s main attractions are Santuario Della Madonna del Monte, Villaggio di Sant'Andrea, Forte Falcone, Spiaggia di Lacona, Napoleon's Villa, Bastioni Medicei, Mausoleo Tonietti, La Piccola Miniera, and Chiesa Reverenda Misericordia. Elba is home to some magnificent beaches. Spiaggia di Cavoli, Spiaggia di Sansone, Spiaggia di Biodola, Spiaggia di Sant'Andrea and Sottobomba Beach create great buzz for their unique beauty and sandy beaches. The coastal city has a vibrant nightlife and many different activities that take place in the city center. However, the city doesn’t have a rich variety of shopping options.
The city offers several examples of international cuisine but the most preferred flavors are seafood and pizza. The Elba Airport is very conveniently located, providing easy access to different cities around the world.
