About Antalya
Antalya, a prominent city on Türkiye's Mediterranean coast, is a gateway to the country's famed "Turquoise Coast." Known for its historic charm and modern amenities, Antalya serves as a major tourism hub and offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.
Antalya experiences a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The best times to visit are in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is pleasant, and the sea is warm.
The city is served by Antalya Airport, located about 13 kilometers from the city center. Direct and connecting flights from major UAE cities, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, are operated by airlines such as Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Flydubai, and Pegasus Airlines, providing seamless access for travelers.
Antalya’s culinary offerings include traditional Turkish dishes alongside international cuisines. Local favorites include kebabs, pide (Turkish flatbread with toppings), mezze (small plates of appetizers), and freshly caught seafood. Don’t miss the sweet baklava and refreshing ayran (a yogurt-based drink), both staples of Turkish cuisine.
The city is rich in attractions that cater to history buffs, nature lovers, and adventure seekers. Kaleiçi, the historic old town, features narrow cobbled streets, Ottoman-era houses, and landmarks like Hadrian’s Gate and the Clock Tower. The Antalya Museum showcases the region’s archaeological treasures. For nature enthusiasts, Duden Waterfalls and the scenic Konyaaltı and Lara Beaches offer picturesque spots to relax and explore. Further afield, the ancient cities of Perge, Aspendos, and Termessos provide a glimpse into Türkiye's rich historical past.
Outdoor activities abound in Antalya, from hiking parts of the Lycian Way, a renowned trekking route, to enjoying water sports along the coast. For families, Antalya Aquarium and the Land of Legends theme park are popular destinations.
UAE citizens can visit Türkiye visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Travelers need a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry. No pre-application or fees are required, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience.
