Transportation to Airport from Dalaman City Center
Dalaman Airport
Dalaman is a small district of Muğla with a population of 35 thousand people. The airport was built here in 1976 because Dalaman is on the crossroads and has flat terrains. The airport was opened to international transportation in 1981.
Dalaman Airport is used for transportation to the major tourist spots in Turkey such as Fethiye, Marmaris, Göcek and Akyakaya. The airport can also be preferred for transportation to Muğla city center and even Kaş and Kalkan, the touristic districts of Antalya. In addition to tourism, greenhouse farming is also an important income channel in the district. Dalaman is a delta rich in bird diversity. The bays here are very convenient for yacht tourism. Dalaman Airport was firstly built in 1976 and it was opened to international transportation in 1981. The airport is one of the busiest airports during summer in Turkey. This is because the airport is used by the inhabitants of Marmaris, Fethiye, Göcek, Gökova, Akyaka and Muğla center and by those who come to these places for holiday.
Dalaman airport has VIP and CIP lounges. The airport is located on a place close to the Antalya-Muğla highway. It is 6 kilometers away from the city center. You can choose from taxi, rental cars or minibus (dolmush) alternatives to leave the airport.

Tivat Airport
Tivat is one of the important coastal cities of Montenegro, the South Europe country, and it is located in the south of Montenegro. Considered as a marina city as well, Tivat is the stopping place of many yachts visiting European coasts.

Taxis that may be the right choice for people that are not very fond of public transportation are very common in the city center. Starting charge of taxis is approximately 4.50 TL and then 2.50 TL per kilometer. As the visitors of this small city also want to see the other cities nearby, renting a car is a common option.
Car rental is a good alternative to discover the beautiful beaches of Tivat comfortably. Dubrovnik, a nearby city that is famous with spectacular beaches, is visited by most of the tourists who rent a car in Tivat. If you want to go to Dubrovnik, you can shorten your travel by 1 hour when you prefer ferryboat leaving from the port ahead of the Tivat Marina.
In Montenegro, there are two airports where international passengers are welcomed. The busiest one is the Tivat International Airport. The other one is Podgorica International airport, located in the capital city Podgorica, and it is 43 km away from Tivat.
Although it is not as busy as Tivat Airport, Podgorica Airport is larger and more modern. In June, July and August, when touristic activities are high, both of the airports are very busy and for the remaining period of time of the year, there are very low air traffic.
You can go to Tivat city center from Podgorica International Airport with a taxi for approximately 70 Euro. As the distance between the airport and city center is very close, transportation takes short time. At the airport, there is no public transportation system, which can take you to the city center.
Taxi is the most preferred way of transportation. People who want to see different places may prefer renting a car. Additionally, some hotels offer airport shuttle services.
