There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. Transportation to Canberra City Center from Airport
Canberra Airport
Canberra city center is very close to the airport and can be reached in about 10 minutes by taxi, rental car or luxury transfer. Shuttle buses offer more economical transportation but they serve only during the day. The closest bus stop is 2.3 kilometers from the airport.
Car Rental
At the airport there are seven different car rental companies, serving at the arrival terminal, luggage delivery area. To go to the city center, turn right at the airport exit, and whichever direction you choose at the crossroads, you can easily reach the center in about 10 minutes by following the signs to the city center.
Taxi / Metro
The taxi stands are at a short walk distance from the luggage delivery area. The taxis are picking up their passengers a covered place to protect them from hot and cold weather and rains. The cost of transport to the city center by taxi is 48 Dollars on weekdays between 06:00 and 21:00, weekends, and 54 Dollars on holidays and during the night.
Shuttle
From the airport you can take the shuttle bus, The Airport Express, to Canberra city center, Russle, National Convention Center, London Circuit and YHA areas. The buses are waiting at the exit of the arrival terminal.
The one way ticket is 12 Dollars but if you want to use The Airport Express buses on your return journey you can get a round trip ticket by paying 20 Dollars. You can get your ticket from the bus driver or from the 'Customer Service' office directly opposite the bus stop. Please note that The Airport Express buses do not serve on public holidays.
Limousine / Minivan
For the passengers who are looking for comfort, there are 20 different companies in the airport providing transfer services with luxury cars, minivans and limousines. If you want to go to the city center with such a vehicle, you should definitely book in advance. Your driver will meet you at the terminal.
