Transportation to Airport from Istanbul City Center

Sabiha Gökçen Intl. Airport

Sabiha Gökçen Airport is accessible by car using the TEM highway. Take the Sabiha Gökçen Airport exit off the TEM highway and follow the signs to the airport. The airport is also accessible by city buses and Havataş shuttles. There is an outdoor parking lot and a multi-story parking lot at the airport. There are some private parking facilities located around the airport that travelers can also use.   

Taxi

The fastest and most convenient way to get to Sabiha Gökçen Airport is by taxi. However, when taking a taxi the most important factor to consider is the traffic, especially during rush hour. If you plan to take a taxi to the airport we recommend checking the traffic before you leave and planning accordingly.

Havabus

Havabus shuttle buses provide transportation between Sabiha Gökçen Airport and central locations in the city like Taksim on the European side and Kadıköy and Yenisahra on the Anatolian side. The shuttle buses provide quick and comfortable transportation to and from the airport every 30 minutes.

Marmaray

The Marmaray is a particularly convenient means of transportation for those coming from the European side of the city. Metro

Starting in Kadikoy on the Anatolian side of the city, the metro passes through many stations like Kozyatağı, Bostancı, Küçükyalı, and Maltepe. Get off at the Kartal stop. From here you can take a bus or taxi to the airport.

The airport is accessible by car, so another option is to rent a vehicle for transportation. There are many car rental agencies located in the city from which you can rent a car and drive to the airport. You can return your rental car at the airport by notifying them in advance.

Simit Sarayı, Center Point, Mc Donald’s, Mc D Cafe, İstanbul Cafe, Drive Inn Cafe, Burger King, Popeyes, Sbarro, Usta Dönerci, Kahve Dünyası and Starbucks are located in the departures hall. Kahve Dünyası, Secco Kafe, Usta Dönerci, Burger King, Sbarro, Mc Donald’s, Trattoria Milano, Heroes Sports Bar, Grab&Fly and Gate Café are located after passport control for international departures. Kahve Dünyası, Burger King, Mc Donald’s, Center Point, Turkish Kitchen, Kıvanç Gökçe Büfe, Grab&Fly, Simit&Çay and Coca Cola Gate Café are located after the security checkpoint in the domestic terminal. Kahve Dünyası, Karafırın, Simit Sarayı and Burger King are located in the arrivals hall. Fly Café is located in the outdoor parking lot. The following passenger lounges offer comfortable and convenient services at Sabiha Gökçen Airport: LGM CIP Lounge, Wings Lounge, Lounge İstanbul International Flights and Turkish Airlines Lounge. Istanbul Airport

Istanbul Atatürk Airport is accessible by taxi, airport shuttles, metro, and buses. You can also choose to drive your personal car and park in the parking lot for a certain fee. The airport is equipped with an outdoor lot and an indoor multi-story lot.

Atatürk Airport is also accessible from the city center by bus. You can get to Atatürk Airport using the TH-1 bus from Taksim and YH-1 bus from Yenikapi.

Metro

One of the fastest ways to get to the airport is by metro. The metro passes through many locations, such as Yenikapı, Aksaray, Fatih, Topkapı, and Esenler Otogar and goes directly into the airport.

Rental Cars

You can rent a car from rental agencies such as AVIS, Budget, or Europcar both at the airport and at various locations in the city. You can also return your rental vehicle to the airport branch of the aforementioned companies. If you are traveling between multiple places make sure to specify your vehicle pick up and drop off location.

Simit Sarayi is located in the domestic arrivals hall. Kantin, The Greenport, Kokpit, Tadında Anadolu, Cakes & Bakes, Starbucks Coffee, Cafe-Inn, Burger King and Sbarro are located in the domestic departures hall.

The Primeclass Lounge, Akbank Wings Lounge, Comfort Lounge, Emirates Lounge, Sky Team Lounge and TTNET Platin Lounge are located in the international terminal. The THY CIP Lounge, Akbank Wings Lounge and Primeclass Lounge are located in the domestic terminal. The ATÜ retail stores provide duty free shopping services.

Transportation to Ho Chi Minh City City Center from Airport

Tan Son Nhat Intl. Airport

You can buy a ticket for the bus, or take one of the taxis waiting in front of the terminal as soon as you land in Tan Son Nhat Airport, located just 5 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City center. Another option is to rent a car. It is possible to get to the city center from Tan Son Nhat Airport in 30 minutes by bus and in a maximum of 10 minutes by other means of transportation.

Bus

Go out when you arrive at the arrival terminal of the airport, and there you will see the stops of the direct buses to the city center. You can get on bus number 152 by purchasing your ticket immediately from the offices. These light cream and green colored minibus sized buses depart every 30 minutes from Tan Son Nhat Airport to the famous Ben Tanh Market, which is a 15-minute walk from to the city center. It is economical and easy to go to the city center by bus number 152, which runs between 6 am and 6 pm. The single-use fare is only 30 cents as of 2017. In addition to this, bus number 109, operated by SATSCO which runs every 15-20 minutes, provides access to the city center from Tan Son Nhat Airport. The bus number 109, which provides transportation services from 05.30 in the morning to 01.30 at night, departs from the column 18 of the domestic terminal and the column 15 of the international terminal and arrives at Ben Thanh Station within 45 minutes. Some of the bus stops on this route are Troug Son, Tran Quoc Hoan, Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Pham Ngu Lao Park 2. The fare for bus number 109 varies between 12.000 (less than 5 km) – 20.000 (more than 5 km) Viet Nam Dong as of March 16, 2016.

Taxi

The taxis, those take you directly from Tan Son Nhat Airport to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, for only 5-7 dollars (150.000-170.000 Viet Nam Dong), wait for the passengers 7/24 outside the terminal. Car Rental

The most known car rental companies at Tan Son Nhat Airport arrival terminal are Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. If you are going to stay in Ho Chi Minh for a few days, you might benefit from renting a car. Because renting a car on an hourly basis is generally not possible. It would take 10-12 minutes to reach Ho Chi Minh City center by the car you book in advance and pick up as soon as you land.
